Health Care Power of Attorney

If you have strong opinions regarding your continued care in the event you are incapacitated and unable to communicate or make decisions about your own healthcare, we can help ensure your wishes and best interests are protected and represented by drafting a Healthcare Power of Attorney (HCPOA).

As opposed to a living will, in which you explicitly state your healthcare preferences in the event of certain scenarios, the HCPOA appoints someone you trust with the power to make healthcare decisions on your behalf, and act as your voice.

We'll begin by consulting with you regarding options set forth in the HCPOA and determine your wishes in regards to each. We'll also explain the provisions relating to nutrition and hydration as well as organ donation.

Finally, we'll advise you on possibly the most important decision: choosing someone you trust implicitly to act as your healthcare agent to direct your medical care in the event the HCPOA must be put into effect.
