Attorney Jane “O’Neill” Edwards is an associate attorney with Hutchens Law Firm for the Coastal South Carolina Real Estate Department. O’Neill’s legal career includes more than three years in real estate and an additional three years assisting low-income South Carolinians with their legal needs. Starting her legal career six years ago with SC Legal Services in Rock Hill, she handled a wide variety of civil legal needs. O’Neill obtained her title insurance license in 2018 and has underwritten for multiple title insurance agencies. Since 2018, Real Estate has been her main career focus.
Born in Florence, O’Neill is a South Carolina native. After graduating from Sweet Briar College in Virginia, she proceeded directly to law school in Charlotte where she obtained her juris doctorate. Beginning her career with low-income people needing civil legal help including family, consumer, and housing law, O’Neill has always had a heart for helping people. After spending two years assisting people in the courtroom, O’Neill sought a more transactional path in Real Estate closings.
She loves working with clients from all walks of life, especially first-time home buyers embarking on a big exciting adventure. Outside of the office O’Neill spends much of her time with her two Boykin Spaniels, Scout and Lady. She enjoys exploring the local history and enjoying the natural beauty of the South Carolina Coast. A lover of British Literature, O’Neill’s favorite quote, and the mantra she strives to live by, comes from Shakespeare’s Henry V, “All things are ready, if our minds be so.
