Kimberly P. Thompson is an associate attorney in our coastal South Carolina region practicing in the area of real estate law. A coastal native, Kim was born and raised in Charleston and graduated from Fort Dorchester High School. After receiving her undergraduate degree, she worked as a paralegal while putting herself through law school. Working in the legal field for the better part of a decade, she began in the area of personal injury law before moving into real estate law. Her move to Myrtle Beach prompted her change to real estate law where she receives tremendous satisfaction helping clients with real estate transactions, especially with first time home buyers.
In her spare time when she's not soaking up as much time with her husband and daughter as possible, Kim enjoys reading, going to the beach, surf fishing, and exploring new food hot spots. One of her all-time favorite quotes is from Ralph Waldo Emerson: "What lies behind us, and what lies before us, are tiny matters compared to what lies within us."
She decided to become a lawyer at the young age of eight while her father was dealing with a serious car accident case. She recalls, "My exact words to my dad were, 'I’m going to become an attorney so I can do better,' and that has become my philosophy since I began practicing law. I always strive to do better for my clients."
