A Fayetteville native and graduate of Southview High School in Hope Mills, Sarah Miranda is a partner at Hutchens Law Firm who practices in the areas of Family Law and Civil Litigation. She is also among a select group of attorneys in Cumberland County who provide a new alternative to traditional divorce called "Collaborative Divorce." Ms. Miranda has been with the Firm since 2004.
Having experienced divorce both as a child and as an adult, she feels she has a greater understanding of what her clients and their families go through which allows her to be a compassionate but level-headed advocate for her clients. She says she chose to practice family law because she wanted to help families in conflict.
"After I began litigating cases, I quickly realized that the best way to resolve conflict was not by creating more conflict. As an alternative to traditional divorce litigation, I also practice collaborative law. Resolving conflict collaboratively is the best thing two people who are struggling through the pain and heartache of a divorce can do for themselves and for their children. My goal is to help my clients resolve their problems amicably and do everything in my power to protect their children from exposure to the court system and the inevitable high conflict present in adversarial cases. I strive to help my clients achieve the best results possible with the least amount of heartache and stress," she says.
Sarah is devoted to investing in her community as well. She is a past-president and board member of the Fayetteville Area Habitat for Humanity, sits on the Eastern Carolina Advisory Board for Lawyer’s Mutual Insurance, and is an active member of the Cumberland County Bar Association and Manna Church, where she attends.

"Sarah Miranda and Angela Batesel are an amazing family law team to work with - professional and knowledgeable advocates in the courtroom while proactive and informative in the office. They ensured I knew my status and options at every phase of my divorce and represented my wishes with unflinching strength and confidence. I've recommended them to several friends who have all been thankful for the referral. You only get one chance at this permanent life-altering event. Make sure you have a winning team like Sarah and Angela in your corner."
"Many thanks to Sarah Miranda and Angela B. for their excellent service involving a family law case. Both were available to discuss the case and to address all my questions through email and telephone. I did not experience any times of not knowing the current and next steps of the process or the anticipated wait period during each step of the process. I highly recommend this team. Family law is difficult at best for all parties. I felt this team has integrity and conducted themselves ethically for all involved. Much appreciated and thank you."
